The students explore the basics of programming using Scratch. The basic movement on an x,y axis allows them to visualise their character and control it. They also understand the basics of working around a brief for a game design and testing the finished product using the forever and if/then loop. Their  next step is the journey  introduces the concept of circuits and the on/off aspect which ties in with the binary numbers.

Students use the basics of a binary circuit alongside a Picaxe so that they can manipulate basic speakers and LED's. Once they lean to manage the output pins C2, C3 & C4 on the Picaxe. 

Students also learn to track their project on Kanbanchi and discover the value of user stories and a Scrum so they recognise the agile project management process.
